Even Anandtech's review of the 5770 alluded to a $130 price point for the 5770 being more in line with how it performs.

I guess we'll see how much doubling the bandwidth helps. This 5830 could be a nice upgrade from the 5770 when it drops below $200 in a few months if it performs well.

Look at how the 5750's perform in X fire. DAMN

The MSRP for the 5850 was $250.00. Why would they release the 5830 with an MSRP of only $10.00 cheaper? And with the recent price hiking by vendors you can expect to pay at least $250-$260 for the 5830.

I"ll pay $200.00 and not a penny more.

Todays Newegg email shows the HD 5770 at $135 shipped after $20 rebate.

I'll be using it as an upgrade from a HD 4830 that was passively cooled in an HTPC. The 5770 uses even less power, so should also work well passively cooled. HTPC gaming is only 1366x768 on a 50" plasma, where the 5770 should perform great.

The problem with $230 is that you can periodically get a 5850 for $260-$270. If you can get a 5830 for $220 or below I am in, but above that it loses a lot of value unless it performs close to the 5850.
