Question 5800X3D PBO work around

So I just got an 5800X3D and I was a little shocked at how hot and throttley it was and theres no PBO settings for the X3d chip (at least not on my MB, I know a few new BIOS revisions are coming out with it).

Anywhoo theres a simple little program a guy wrote that helps massivly with all core clock speeds on this cpu.

This dropped my temps and let me hit the boost ceiling for all cores and single cores! Its well worth a go if your MB doesnt yet hae PBO2 support.

Running an Asus x470 prime pro with bios 6063.

Is this not working for you? I found a massive difference. I'm running a -30 offset right now but it seems stable at -50, but there were no massive gains after -30. (Maybe a little drop in temp but I didn't have time to test it at those values)
 
I didn't really see any drop in temperature until I got to -30. My CPU just used all the headroom it had and boosted until it hit 90c under full load.
So up to -25 it stayed at 90c but boosted higher and longer, then when I hit -30 it stopped boosting higher and started dropping temps.
Which is (as I understand it) exactly what PBO2 is supposed to do but it was fun to see it happen so explicitly. I'm looking forward to having enough time to test the higher PBO2 levels. Core cycler is stable overnight at -30 so I'll be happy with that anyway.

Yeah, I was curious what was behind that weird decision to not expose at least curve adjusting in BIOS initially for the X3D parts. Anyway glad it helps.
 
Yep, the latest Asus BIOS for their X570 boards (and some other brands) lets you set CO offsets. I used the PBO2 tuner in Windows to find my stable per-core offsets, then set them in the BIOS. No issues, and it's nice not having to have a script set them every time Windows starts.

true but is WelshBloke seeing this other menu in his x470 bios is the question.

Right now i've set -20 per core but haven't had time to do per core tuning like I did on my 5800X.
