5770 vs 6850 and E8400

Will I see any difference between the cards at 1680x1050 with a stock E8400? $50 difference between the cards. I do not plan on upgrading my CPU in the next year or so.
 
yes its worth 50 bucks extra if you play very gpu intensive games. of course in some very cpu intensive games you will see little to no difference. I would oc that cpu to 3.6 to help get more out of that 6850.
 
The E8400 is still a decent CPU, even though it is only a dual-core. The high clocks really help it out. You'd be much happier with the 6850.
 
I guess I should add that the current game of choice is SC2, with occasional Company of Heroes and rare L4D2.
