5770 or 4870x2

hi, my mate has an Sapphire 2GB Radeon 4870 X2 and he told me he will sell it to me for £140, I also have a 5770 on order so should I go ahead with the 5770 for £130 or buy the 4870 x2

The HD 4870 X2 would wipe the floor with the HD 5770.

EDIT: Make sure your Power Supply is enough to power the HD4870x2, should you go that route! Also remember that some games scale worse in CrossFire, so the gains over a single HD4870/HD5770 won't be constant.

True, but very few games don't scale that well unless they are really old games. In which case, it doesn't matter the performance because either card should max out with an old enough game that does not scale well.
