hey guys

I stumbled upon a Sapphire Radeon 5750 Vapor-X that's cheaper than a MSI Radeon 6670. I'm assuming the 5750 would be a better buy, right?

System specs:
- Intel i3 540
- 4gb ddr3
- 500gb / 160gb
- 450w (30a on 12v)

I game at a low resolution (1440x900), but I'd like to enjoy some eye candy. Which one of these two would suit me better?

Good stuff, and apparently the 5770 and 6770 are basically the same thing if that tells you anything about the weirdness in the 5xxx to 6xxx ATI naming deal.

The 6xxx and 5xxx naming shenanigans isn't entirely without reason. The cards that eventually became the 6800s were originally meant to be 6700s and sold at the same price point as the 5700s -- but that depended on a new process to push down manufacturing costs. The new process didn't show, so they were stuck with expensive chips. Naming them 6700s at higher prices would have killed 5700 sales to the average person but 6700 sales would still be limited due to price. So they named them 6800s. The 5700s were rebadged as 6700s to maintain the appearance of newness at the same price point, since AMD has not yet made a chip that can replace the 5700.
