560ti black screens?

Today I bought a refurb GTX 560ti to replace my GTX 650. I get much better frame rates but every 15 minutes or so, the screen goes black and the system restarts. This was not an issue on the 650. Any ideas on what it might be? I'm hoping it's not the 560ti because I got an amazing deal on it.

Clearly "amazing deal". That explains it all. I would return the card immediately. First, check if temps are ok.

It was from MicroCenter. Manufacturer's refurb for $80 and I had a $50 gift card. Temps are 45C after 20 minutes of Alan Wake.

make sure you have good enough power supply. Something may be overheating.

Seems like downgrading my nVidia drivers to the lastest official release fixed the crashing. Thanks for the help!

Drivers have been hit and miss for the 500 series. The 320+ drivers would cause lockups when not gaming; had to revert back to 314.

That's unfortunate.

Did I make the right decision by moving from the 650 to the 560ti?

I think you're alright. 560 Ti is a performance upgrade over the two slower 650 versions.
