5600 ultra old and new

The new 5600 version is supposed to offer better performance,IMHO I would wait awhile,remember you also have 3 models of the FX 5900 as well,prices are $499,$399,$299.

Like all things it comes down to how long you want to wait for new products.

The $299 version of the 5900 would be the only one I'd consider. I haven't seen anyone make any claims as to when the 5900 256mb version would be out, let alone the 128mb budget version.

What are we talking here, 3 months?

Start of July I think for the 5900 256MB version.

No kind of paper launch there.
They haven't even really finalised the board yet.

This situation where the shipping product is much improved over the originally reviewed product is all too reminiscent of the Radeon 9500 Pro, whose performance changed dramatically after our initial performance preview. We will see in the coming weeks how the final 5600 Ultra stacks up across the board.

so the messed up one never shipped or did it?

I really dont wanna wait weeks for a card, Ive had to return mine and am stuck using a 440mx until my refund arrives. It should be here today.
