5600 to ultra

Some reviews said it can get close. The "new" Ultras use a flip chip design so they have much more headroom, plus the RAM is spec'd at much higher speeds. Until retail "new" Ultras become common, don't know for sure, but my guess is that it will get closer, but not quite an Ultra.

Nope. Not even close, won?t even maker the speeds of the old 5600U.

The 5600 is 325/275 with 3.3/3.6ns?memory. The old ultra is 350/350. The core on the 5600 will get to 350 easy (tops about 380) but the 3.3/3.6ns memory will probably only get to about 310-315mhz, well short of the ultra?s 350mhz.

The new 5600U is 400/400 with really fast 2.2 ns memory and a new flip-chip cpu package that allows for much better clock rates. If they make the regular 5600 core with the new cpu package it will overclock really well and should make the 400mhz of the new Ultra without much problem but the memory will still be way down on performance.
