$56/month for 4ips and hub or $50 for 1 ip and router

So what do you guys think would be better. MMinternet offers 768/128k + 3 additional ips for 56/month, I have a hub so it would be cheaper than getting a router. Is the hardware firewall worth the extra money. Anticipate only moderate use so I'm considering going without the router

It'll be a lot easier to configure, and you'll have fewer compatability problems with the multi-ip setup.

Not too worried about having difficulty setting up the firewall. Just wondering if anyone has experience with 4 comps using broadband without a firewall.

The router will be cheaper in the long run and you get the added benefit of a hardware firewall.

The one friend I know who has a set-up with mutliple IPs (16) and no firewall has gotten cracked twice.

The extra IPs would allow all computers to play multiplayer games on the internet. Using a hub, only one computer could play multiplayer games. You would save more money by buying a hub instead of paying for the extra IPs.
