550W PSU. EPS->ATX. Is 24-pin to 20-pin ADAPTER OK?

Well, wouldn't you know it, I just bought a brand spankin' new Antec 550W "True550" PSU from NewEgg.

My dumb-arse doesn't see that it's labeled as EPS, which means it comes with a 24-pin mobo connector.

My new Gigabyte board accepts a 20-pin ATX model.

I have seen the 24-pin to 20-pin adapter, though my questions are:

1. Should I get the adapter, or return the PSU for one with the 20-pin connector?

2. Are there any problems with using this type of adapter? Any reasons why it would be ludicrous to use an adapter?

Thanks,

Thanks Carbonadium; good to know. I wasn't sure if there were any negative impacts of using an adapter from 24-pin to 20-pin.

Anyone have any other comments?

I think I will go the adapter route.

Thanks,

Nope, most of the 24pin psu comes with adapter.. so its not a crime.. just dont buy a cheaper one and get bad wiring or loose one.. u know some cheap one has bad quality
