thats my second system, jus ordered the GTS-V visiontek to upgrade from a vanilla TNT2@145/175...i have in of a ZM6 w 256 mb of SDRAM...itll be a large amount of effort to secure a compatible celeron 2 533-600@800-900(it has to be a CBo steipping 1.5v type, and also i dont want to spend too much...(about 25-30, tough to find one at that price) it being my second system, is it worth the effort to get the celly 2...will it improve perf at res like 1024x768x32bpp color?

u haven`t mentioned ur mainboard if it is 440bx than it will run like a dream on well atleast dx7 games but unfortunatly celeron 533-600 does not have sse instruction set important to play dx8 games(to tough on the processor) :( .Try getting celeron 800-900 so to have good speed gaming experience and these processors are very low cost too.

you will get good speed in games like nfs5,unreal tournament,Quake3 etc

but not in dx8 complient games they will run using the hardware transform and lightening engine but probably not so cool at 1024*768@32bps

Best wishes for your new card and you

The medicino core Celeron 533 and 550 may lack sse instructions, I don't know for sure. But the coppermine based celerons 533MHz and higher have everything that a Pentium 3 has. Then only difference is the stock fsb speed and 4-way associative 128K of L2 cache vs. the P3's 8-way associative 256K.
