I ordered a new rig and I'm going to be stealing the PSU (BFG 680w) from my current system to use in the new one - assuming I can't get something better in the <$55 range. It needs to power:

Q6600 (probably at 3ghz, slight undervolt)
HD4870
Single mechanical hard drive
Couple of small case fans

I don't imagine I need crazy wattage for this, 400-450w is likely sufficient, I'd prefer to have a more efficient unit than a ton of extra wattage. While I'll do mail-in-rebates, I can't put down more than $55 right now.

I was considering this unit:

ENERMAX NAXN ENP450AST 450W

Or maybe this one:

Antec EarthWatts Green EA-430D Green 430W

But I'm not convinced the 2nd one is worth $10 more than the first. Please advise!

Is there something wrong with the BFG unit? I'm not sure what's prompting you to replace it

I need a 2nd PSU because I'm pulling the BFG out to use in a new compy. It's been very good to me so far.

Oh right, sorry about that. Didn't read properly.

For starters, 4870 requires two PCIe connectors, so Antec EA430D is out. The Enermax NAXN 450W unit does have two, it's a good choice. Hard to find a better deal before rebates :)

I have some PCIe adapters and a lot of other splitters, etc., is the 450 still a better choice?

The Corsair Builder Series 500w would run that fine, and has 2 PCI Connectors

and is $39 AR at newegg. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817139027

Too expensive before rebates.

Well actually CX500 V2 after promo is $50, bang middle between the Enermax and Antec but it's more powerful than both. Antec is made by Delta, so it may be a bit higher quality than the CWT made Enermax and Corsair CX, but honestly all of them should be good enough quality to not really matter.
