I did no panel prep on my 65" ST50. I've had it since the end of september though, and i'm sure i've put it through at least 100 hrs of use (is there even a way to check it? Couldn't find it in the settings). Have I doomed my set in the process? Or is it not that big of a deal?

just fyi, i'd guess that about 99.9% of the people who purchase tv's don't do any of this panel prep stuff and their tv's work just fine.

nothing is doomed heh.

haven't calibrated my tv to d-nice's settings yet because im doing my home network wiring this weekend, but we watched madagascar 3 3d last night on the 60" st50 and holy shit wow it was pretty amazing!

Yep. I just watched it last night and it is definitely a reference quality BD, especially toward the end when they are performing in the circus. It showcases the plasma's strength by doing quick transitions from deep black to vibrant colors. Just gorgeous.
