55" 1080i TV bad picture in 16x9 just with NBC Olympics (compressed vertically)

I'm visiting relatives in MA.

The commercials look OK, but when the actual Olympics come on the picture is compressed vertically so that people look squat. It's a Samsung UN556000SFXZA.

What's up with that? I poked around in Tools and Menu I couldn't find anything.

Thanks for help.

On my new toshiba TV there is a "Picture Size" button which relates to overscan cropping (Which ironically is defaulted to on, for all those analog stations people still watch, amirite?) and is what I need to use to get my PC screen 1:1. This setting is only on the remote and not accessible from any settings menu.

thanks. Their remote has a p.size button and I told them about it. But the Olympics were over and it seems that it only happened with Olympics coverage.
