54 mbps or 108?

If I'm running cable internet and I want to set up a wireless network between 2 computers, would I be better off with a 54mbps router or a 108 mbps. I am on a rather tight budget, so if the performance difference is not very big, I would rather go with a cheaper router.
 
depends on your usage. If you are surfing the web, go for the cheapest. If you are transfering files alot then get the faster.
 
Go with the cheaper router.

Internet speeds are actually quite miniscule compared to the speeds those devices are capable of.
