Yeah, I caught that too. I like how he misspells Infiniti, then lists both VW *AND* 'Volks Wagen'. HAHAHAHA!

Oh, and apparently it's also like a BMW! Could it be because it is one? Just guessing ;)

IIRC, only the 540 was offered with //M package, which was wheels/lowering, perhaps exhaust, something to that effect. Still, //M package is quite obviously not //M5 :)

Parked up to post a letter the other day and the car in front was a e39 525 or similar badged ///M5. The single chubby exhaust gave it away. I 'd

I wish I still had the link, but there's a site out there that has pages and pages full of ridiculously mangled bimmers/bimmer-wannabes. Things like a 318i with an M badge and a 9" wing... A Honda Accord with roundels... etc. If I can dig it up, i'll post it...

OMG LOL @ the mugan badge on the 318.

Anyway, yeah, M package was only avl on the 540i. Exhaust, suspension, wheels, and lots and lots of badging. that car was fun as shit though. Dad had one for about 4 years. Unfortunately he sold it just as i reached driving age and didn't get a whole lot of wheel time. :(

Yeah that BMW page is fantastic, thanks Skorpio! Also thanks Hyper, good that not all of my memory has utterly failed me. The steering wheel was different as well, or was that an individual option?

A friend of mine bought a '98 528i used and then came to me and said that the salesman told him it was an M5 except for the engine. I'm assuming he meant it had a sports package which may in fact have had the same suspension as an M5...but really...it should be criminal to say 528 and M5 in the same sentence.
