But typical, when his position is indefensible he starts trying to deflect.

He doesn't actually have a position. What he has are a handful of canned statements that he tosses into various threads almost at random.

Over and over and over and over and over again.

Why? He comes into the thread and doesn't even condemn them. The same for you, Why don't you condemn them?

Why would anyone "have" to condemn the Muslim Brotherhood in this thread? It's about them getting sentenced to death and no, I don't think having political views that differs from mine to justifies death. I don't think being an Islamist justifies getting killed.

YOU started it off with "This is good news.". The counter to that (it not being very Jesus of you) is valid. Then you start deflecting, and keep on deflecting because you are unable to come up with a counter argument. No one is defending the policies of the Muslim Brotherhood, but arguing against policy and arguing for killing them all are two very separate things.

The MB are terrorists though. It's not like they have slightly different political views but these guys are extremists who are terrorists.

Terrorism is the use of violence to create change. The Muslim Brotherhood won an election (recognized as fair) to gain power. Then there was some pretty unhealthy processes, but terrorism? Come on, even for you that's stupid.

You came in and didn't call out the MB, Why?

This thread isn't about the policies of the MB. You want to debate the relative goodness or badness of their stewardship of Egypt start a thread on that.

The real issue here and one you as someone who constantly professes to be a lover of freedom and fearful of state power should be concerned by. Is that 528 individuals were sentenced to death in trials where at least a portion of them were not even present to give a defense. Even worse you seem to draw some sick pleasure from seeing other human beings sentenced to die in questionable legal proceedings because you disagree with their politics.

I'm all for just punishments for crimes that are proved in an open court of law where defendants can actually defend themselves and the state has to prove its case. That pretty clearly isn't the case here.

It's not recognized as a terror organization by the west. Egypt listed them as terrorists to make it easier to rid them of political power, of that I have no doubt whatsoever. I don't agree with Islamic policy, I don't think they're a bunch of sympathetic guys, but I don't think they're terrorists and I think the trial is a sham.
