520w PSU - sufficient?

Hey All,

I just wanted to inquire if my 520w Seasonic 80+ Bronze PSU (not sure if it is modular or not) can handle an additional sound card (possibly an Asus Xonar Essence STX, or some other related model) on my old computer. The current setup is:

CPU: Intel i5 760;
MB: Asus P7P55D-E;
RAM: 8GB
SSD: Crucial BX100, 250GB (I think); and
GPU: Inno3d HerculeZ X2 OC GTX 960, 2GB.

Also, if I upgrade my GPU to a GTX 970 (not OCed) and add a 1TB HDD, in addition to the new sound card, will the PSU still hold? Or am I just inviting disaster?

If my PSU is inadequate for the foregoing specifications, what wattage will be ideal?

Any input on the matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

A sound card has very little power draw, so no need to worry.

I had a Seasonic S12II-Bronze 430 Watt powering the following PC:
- Core i5-4440
- 2x4GB DDR3 1600
- GTX 660
- 3 x HDD (1TB each)
- 1 SSD
with no problems.

GTX 660 - TDP 140 W
GTX 960 - TDP 120 W
GTX 970 -TDP 145 W

TDP is not the same thing as power drawn by the card, but it should be close to it.

So, in conclusion, you could make all those upgrades with no problems, keping your power supply.

i5 + GTX 960 could run on a Seasonic G360. For GTX 970, your 520W is sufficient
