Honestly I think you'd be fine with either one unless you plan on going SLI in the future, in which case the 620HX would probably be a better buy.

I had a very similar question, hope I'm not hijacking....

Planning to build a system:
e6600
2gig ram
8800gts (possibly worse)
320gb hdd

Not planning on SLI, period. Mobo only has one slot.
Would both of these psu's run this system? I had seen the clubit deal and was quite happy.

Another question: Do power supplies pull full power from the wall at all times? Would the 620 cost appreciably more? (like on a power bill?)

Eiteher PSu wil easily handle your system as well.

PSUs only supply what your system needs. A 500W unit isn't constantly supplying 500W to the PC. As for how much is being pulled from the wall that all depends on the Efficiency of the unit. If for example your system pulls 200W and your PSu is 80% effiecient then you are pulling 240W from the wall. Now you power ussage will very based on the load your system has and the effieciency of the PSU will very based on that load as well as the overall temp of the PSU.

That's a great deal, I would have gone for that but my 520X seems to power an overclocked Q6600 (have gone to 3.6GHz, run it 3.2GHz on a regular basis) with a single graphics card just fine.

Under idle I get 11.98V and under full load of CPU and GPU I get 11.97V-11.98V - measured by a multimeter not software. These PSUs are so solid.
