5200 ultra or 9600 non pro?

Hey guys I'm going to be buying an abs system soon and I have a choice between either the fx 5200 ultra or the 9600 non pro. The 9600 is $50 more do you think it's worth the extra money? Also is the 5200 comparable to a ti4200 64mb?

5200U = gf4 MX440 DX8 performance
9600 = MX460?? (Although it doesn't exist anymore) I know it's less than the Ti4200.

If money is of concern, wait couple months and then see if the 9600XT will bring down prices.

9600 for speed and IQ, no contest. I suppose a 5200U is comparable to a 4200, but it's usually more expensive, thus not worth the extra cost.

What prices are you looking at for both? I'd consider the 9600 if you play games fairly often, though you may also consider buying it separately for ~$110, and selling the card ABS includes with their system.

Ti4200 is a bit faster than both the 5200 ultra and 9600 non-pro without any eye candy on. However with AA/AF enabled, the 5200 ultra and the vanilla 9600 will outperform the Ti4200. Honestly it may be in your best interest to save a little more $$$ and purchase a 9600XT for the performance is hands down quite a bit faster than either of the cards you mentioned when it comes to gaming. But to answer your question is it worth a extra $50 to get a 9600? I say no, but its right on the borderline where you can swing either way....considering price/performance anyway

WTF is wrong with you? is there even a fair contest there? Even if the Radeon was the 9200pro it would be better than the 5200 ultra. The Fx series is no contest for the New Radeon series. Grnted they are close in the current games but once we get into true DX9 games then the Fx can't hold a match to the Radeon series.

I'm almost sure you can sell a 128MB 5200U for about $100, to be honest. There's a sucker born every minute. 🙂
