51C on Sempron 3100+ Full load OC'd to 2.3

Anyone know what the max temp I could go to before I risk frying my CPU would be on this Sempron 3100+ that I have OC'd to 2.3Ghz? I want to go higher. Vcore is about 1.47 full load right now.

That sounds mighty high for a sempron, mine gets to a max of 44c at 2.4ghz and 1.42 vcore, all jammed into a matx case. I'd say you could go higher but I dunno, why not giveit a shot? I don't think you can fry the cpu, computer would just shutdown if it got too hot.

So I tried backing the FSB down from 166 to 133 and then ramping up the HTT in Clockgen...Can't get past ~275; the mobo just plain locks up 🙁.

The "remote temp" in Speedfan (I believe this is the HTT bus chip or whatever) is around 47C.

My HTT is currently at 256Mhz x9 for 2.3Ghz; Ram is at 205Mhz currently. I'm going to go post a thread about that ram now to see how high I can push it before I burn it out. It's rated at 2.6V I believe.

On my old K8N I had crappy value ram jacked up to 2.85v with not loose but not tight settings, 275 bus set in bios and upped that to 296 using ClockGen, held stable at 46c under whatever load I could throw at is (approx 22c room temp). Ram was clocked down to 100mhz iirc, with the OC it was around 184 or something.

Give clockgen a try before giving up on your overclock, works well.
