512RAM reading at 480!!!

I have 2 sticks of Kingston 256 pc2100 ram. When i had just one installed, it read it at 256. I just installed a new stick and now it reads as 480?? In bios, it says that installed memory is 512 but when i go into the properties of My Computer, it says that i have 480MB of ram. Anyone know why and how i can fix it? Thanks.
 
If you have a chipset with integrated video like the nForce or SiS650 chipsets, then 32MB is taken for the video card.
