This stuff was supposed to be out two months ago, yet everyone is backordered on it. You can find it on eBay for twice what it retails for (and somehow I'm doubting they actually have any to sell either). What's the problem with this stuff?
It takes time to meet the Secure Digital (SD) standards, so to get the storage media out in a hurry -- they called it Transflash and left 'SD' out of the title.
Now that they've gotten their "SD" certification on it, transflash has been renamed "MicroSD".
You can buy a 512mb MicroSD card at BestBUy for about 60 dollars. I was at my local bestbuy the other day and they had about 20 in stock.
Do not get MicroSD and MiniSD confused, they are not the same. MicroSD is the EXACT same as Transflash though, 100% compatible.
i've got a 512 card that i use with a motorola e815.
I'm aware of the name change, but most places are still calling it transflash. BB has been out for a couple of weeks now, and 512MB is not even on their site anymore. I wonder if everyone is clearing inventory due to the name change.
It's a very tiny form of SD memory that's used to cell phones, gps's, and some other compact electronics. I got a pair of new Motorola e815s and want to pack some music on it for my wife.
