512mb pc3200 or 1 gb of pc2700 on athlon 64 laptop?

Hi guys, --i searched around for this question but cant seem to find an answer.

I currently have 512mb pc3200 ram in my athlon 64 laptop. But... I also have an extra 512 mb pc2700 stick of ram laying around. I know that once I pop that stick in my laptop, my laptop's speed memory speed will drop to 333mhz. But overall, will adding an extra 512 mb of pc2700 increase the performance of my system or should I stick to a single stick of 512mb pc3200

I would add it, I love 1 gb ram, running 45 processes, no way I could do that with 512.
