512MB PC2100 DDR DIMMs worth it now?

I just saw some 512MB PC2100 DDR DIMMs on Pricewatch listed for around $110-120. I had been considering buying two 256MB PC2400 sticks (around $72 ea.), but now I'm thinking double the memory for only 50% more money... especially with most of the 760 MB's I'm looking at only having 2 DIMM slots...

So, my questions -

- Would I need to get registered memory to put two 512 MB DIMMs on a 760 chipset MB? (I'm considering the MSI K7-Master, Abit KG7 or Epox ? board)

- The RAM I was looking at was Infineon brand - anyone know the specs or where I can find them (the seller doesn't list them).

- Would going with two 512MB/PC2100 hurt my OC chances versus getting two 256MB PC2400? Is there any other gotchas to going with the jumbo DIMMs?

So what would you prefer: less, slightly faster memory, or more, slightly slower memory?

I was thinkin about it yesterday when I couldn't get the last batch of ram I bought from Crucial to get to 150fsb reliably, both PC133 and PC2100. If ddr motherborads will be running 333ddr or even higher with either Intel or AMD cpu's, then it may be wise to wait for the faster stuff.

If you have a mb that you will be keeping for a while and you do graphics work, a gig O ram might be nice though.

prob go for the two 256mb PC2400 because you dont really need a gig of ram do you? And you will be able to overclock the 2400's nice. Although, normal crucuial ones are excellent too, as long as you use the right settings.
