At Outpost. Newegg and Googlegear both have it for $129 shipped.

Anyone knows if its the same price at Fry's? If yes it'd save me shipping, if not it's still hot as hell...

Edit: My local Fry's (Industry) has it for $129

Ihave been watching the price of this so I could buy another stick. I thought the 129 was a good price, good thing I did not jump on it.

Just noticed that I'll get charged sales tax so with that and shipping will be close to the googlegear price so maybe I will wait a few days and see if the price drops at the other places too

I believe if you have a Fry's in your state, you'll get taxed, since Outpost.co is their online sales site.

The Hyper X DDR 3500 runs at a 2-4-4-8 timing.
My Hyper X DDR 3000 runs at a 2-2-2-6 timings.

I think any Hyper X is a great buy. I am running (3) Hyper X DDR 3000 chips right now. Very happy. They score much better in (Sandra) memory tests then the stock Dell DDR 2700 chips I had as well. -can't remember my scores though.

Just remember that when you are concerned with timings and DDR speed, Its best to have RAM all of the same flavor. The RAM generally runs at the slowest chip. My one dell that had 1 512mb Hyper X and a dell installed 128mb module. It ran a little better when I removed the slower 128mb.

Dakels, what is generally good for timings on 3000/3200/3500 ram? This deal looks very very tempting but one person I talked to said its timings sucked. I know googlegear has the 3000 for about 90 right now. I'm looking for good ram that will o'clock decently but not uber great. I doubt I'll be taking my tbred 2100 too high but I'd like the ram to last awhile for future use. TIA

I think that 190-200 with low timings is better than 217 at medium timings. That's just my opinion though. I have mushkin 3000 that I run at 180fsb at max timings (though it's rated for 183 at medium timings).

This is good stuff, don't get me wrong, but I think Kingston just released new modules for all models with decreased timings. I think there's even a PC3500 model out there with 2-3-3-?.

This is a hot price. I just finished building a machine (Athlon 2400+) with 512MB Kingston HyperX PC3000 ($80 shipped) & have been very happy - haven't had a chance to run any tests yet.

I was just wondering if the chips of 2700, 3000 and 3500 are actually different or is this a marketing ploy for Cas 2 and Cas 3. Other companies (Micron, noticeably) will have several rated speeds using the same chips. Anyone willing to remove the heat spreaders? If they are the same then the real deal is the cheaper ram. If not then we are just out a little work taking off the $0.25 heat spreaders that do not really work, but covers up the ram markings.

While the 3500 chips do have a slower latency, they obviously show they can be more aggressively timed. Still, I personally don't like OCing too much since stability is paramount for my work. The last thing I need is to do a 8 hour render and then get a memory error making me rerender the project. I try to get fast times on stock approved settings. I am also a penny pincher since I have 4 rigs to keep equipped. I try to get what I see as the best bang for the buck. Still, when I bought my 3 Hyper X chips, these 3500 chips weren't so cheap! :) I think this is a hot deal but still not sure if it would be better for my needs for the extra cost. I am under the impression that all these modules are the same but binned in more aggresive speeds and timings. I've seen the 3000 chips run well over 3500 speeds.

DAMN! That is some cheap stuff! Can I barrow $110? If only they had a Dual Channel Kit!
