512mb enough for an Atom 330 HTPC on 24x7?

I'm looking to build an HTPC that runs Windows 7 Media Center 24x7 and is used as a DVR. This computer will never play what it records, but instead stream it to my TV room's computer and serve as a network storage device with a 2TB drive. I have the Zotac Atom 330 board and need to get some ram for it. A guy I know has a 2x256 DDR2 667mhz. set for sale and I was wondering if this would be enough for what I'm proposing? I would also like to have iTunes running 24x7 as it will stream audio around my house as I use an iPod Touch as a remote.

Thanks in advance.

No it's not enough in my opinion. Windows 7 alone has a footprint of around 512mb.

DDR2 is pretty cheap as it is, just get a gig or two.

Microsoft's System Requirements for Windows 7 are a minimum of 1 GB of memory. I recall Vista with 512 MB of memory being pretty bad.

7 with 1gb on home premium on an atom is actaully not too bad.

given how cheap 1gb ddr2 is just buy 1gb. i think maybe yo ucould do it with 512mb if it was just a NAS. but i am not sure about recording as whatever its using to record +windows itself might need over 512mb unless you really strip it down.
