That's a decent deal at Dell since it's probably name brand memory and the pricewatch prices have gone up since I upgraded a couple of weeks ago.

I bought a pair of 512MB (1GB total) DDR2-4200 made by Samsung DIMMs to upgrade my Dell 8400 from 1800memory for $178 shipped. That's only $20 more than 1GB (512MB x 2) of made by Samsung PC3200 memory on pricewatch.

The Athlon 64 only has a DDR1 interface on the chip, so no.
