512 or 1gig of ram?

I have 2 sticks of 512 that used to work fine in my axp setup at 220+. I've since switched to an a64 setup and with both sticks in I can no longer get anything stable over 190, but with one stick in it's fine at everything I've tried so far. So do I stick with one stick and sell the other or deal with a lower fsb and 1 gig of ram.

NeonFlak, a little more info would be helpful; for ex. what brand memory, MB & what Athlon 64 are we talking about here?

Memory is some no name brand pc3200. Motherboard is an AK86-L and the a64 is a 3000+. I primarily use my pc for gaming.
