I don't think you could go wrong with either one of those two. Are shipping costs the same, too?

HyperX is validated to run at faster timings 2-2-2-5-1T vs 2-3-3-6-1T. My experience with HyperX has been great also.

I'm gonna explain a rule that I like to call "you get what you pay for." Though it takes a thorough understanding of discrete math which I won't get into in this post I will say that using this rule you can infer that since they are competitors in the exact same price range they will be exactly the same. Seriously, investigating which one will yield a negligible gain that isn't noticeable before 20 signifigant figures is the worst waste of time in the world...

I'm running 2/256 sticks of HyperX PC2700 in a Abit NF7-S mobo with a XP 2800(barton) & ATI 9700 pro...for the most part it runs great..however...i do get occational memory address errors in C&C Generals when playing 8 player maps...EAgames always points the finger elsewhere when there games mis-behave....I have not yet been able to determine what is to blame, the memory or the game. Memory is a bit too expensive to be going out and just arbitrarialy replace it everytime your system mis-behaves. I do sometimes wonder if I should have gone with the PC3200 instead although I'm conviced that for basic system stability your better off running your memory syc. with the fsb..which makes PC2700 the right match for a Barton core processor.

There is an issue with the hyperx 3500 ram just so you know about it. My hyperx ran at 215fsb synch in nforce2 boards that have the newest stepping chipset. Although it would not run anywhere near that speed with two sticks in running dual channel mode. There is a problem with the spd timings I think. Kingston is working on this now. I guess if you run at slow speeds like 180fsb and below it might not be an issue. My hyperx always worked fine but I might like to add another module in the future. I called newegg and they took mine back and let me get some corsair xms.

OK, right off the bat, I want to be clear (in case you didn't already know) that you shouldn't run your RAM any faster than your FSB, because it's a waste. That being said, if you're running a 266MHz FSB processor, then you'll only need PC2100 RAM.

If both of these assumptions are correct, then I'd go with this Kingston module. HyperX and XMS are for overclocking and reliability at higher speeds. If you're not going to be needing either, then don't waste your money.

HyperX. Corsair is overpriced these days, with the fast/cheap RAM available from Kingston/Twinmos.

Hi Ilmater,

I am not running my memory faster than my fsb. I am running 215 fsb and memory - synch. I have absolutely no problems at all on my 8RDA+. I just wanted to point out that while the hyperx memory is good memory, there is a problem running at high speeds in dual channel mode. Many people who buy this type of motherboard are going to buy this ram are going to overclock it. The cheaper ram you picked out is perfect for someone wanting to run at standard speeds.

The Hyper-X PC3500 can handle 434MHz @ CAS2 so I don't think 415 would be a problem.... now 3200 may be a tad different story.
but if you get Kingston 3500 should be fine.... I ran mine @ 420 on my P4 board and it works flawless... 100% reliability. :)

My HyperX pc3500 runs great in dual channel at 200 fsb on my A7N8X. I think the problem you mentioned was with the newer nforce2 revisions and has since been solved.

Kingston has never been a good choice IMO, maybe they've raised the bar, but their ram has always been crap for me.
