512 mb sticks of DDR RAM?

i want to get the Epox EP-8K7A mobo and it only has 2 slots for ram, i dont want to use up both slots and get 2 x 256's, so i wanted to get just one stick of 512... i heard that they have them out, but i can't seem to find them anywhere, anyone know any places online where i could buy a stick of 512 ddr ram?

According to pricewatch.com, there are several places to buy them. Be advised: these are MUCH more expensive that 2 256 MB modules.

Actually there is one that's down to less than $300. But still a $150 premium over 2 sticks of 256 MB.
 
Yes, you just have to search around and you will be able to find them no problem. I'm not sure if Crucial has them, but I seem to think that they did last time I checked 🙂
 
crucial didn't have any. I say buy 2x256, and just trash one (or give it to me) when you want to upgrade later to 768. It is so cheap now, just not worth it to buy a 512 stick.
 
geez, i heard they'd be expensive but not that expensive 🙁

cheapest on pricewatch is $259, i was hoping it would be less than 200
i guess i'll just go with 2 sticks of 256 now then, thanks
