50% of households in the USA own at least one Apple product, and 10% of those without intend to buy an Apple product sometime in the next year. This finding and others were discovered by a recent CNBC poll, which revealed some other fascinating statistics on the ubiquity of Apple gear in the United States.

55 million homes have at least one iPad, iPhone, iPod, or Mac in the house
Apple buyers tend to be male, college educated, and younger
57% of homes on the West have Apple products, with an average of 2 per household
47% to 51% of homes in the remainder of the country have Apple products
61% of households with children own Apple products
48% of childless homes have Apple products
28% of households making $30,000 a year own at least one Apple device
77% of households earning over $75,000 a year own at least one Apple product, and average three devices per home
Owning Apple gear is also a nonpartisan affair, with 56% of both Republican and Democrat party members owning a device.

Some of these figures are unsurprising given the tremendous sales volume of Apple gear over recent years, though it’s still an impressive feat for a company that was nearly bankrupt in 1996.

I think we already did a "list all your Apple products" thread, no? Anyone got the link?

If we count everything with an Apple logo, I have an iPad, MacBook Air, PowerBook, MacBook Pro, AppleTV, an Apple Aluminum Keyboard, an iPod and an iPhone.

$450 for an iPod Touch is overpriced. I learned the hard way. Shouldn't have gone with the 64GB.

It's that name brand "Apple" gets you suck in to it.... amazing what brand name / image can do things.

iphone just for bejeweled blitz, its basically useless for anything else. Once bejeweled blitz comes on android I am giving it to my GFs daughter. My son has a 3rd gen ipod nano, I still have a 160gb ipod classic somewhere (dont use it anymore) and I have my mid-2009 MBP which I got for free at my last job and use it everyday but its too heavy to carry around. I use windows xp in bootcamp but could easily live without it if I had too. Plus, being and IT dork I have various busted ibooks and crap. I do use my 20" oldschool cinema display on my main PC for 3 screen eyefinity.

For me alone (recent college graduate):

Early 2011 15" MacBook Pro
27" Apple Cinema Display
32GB iPad WiFi + 4G
64GB iPhone 4S
Apple TV (3rd generation)
2TB Apple Time Capsule (2011)

I pretty much replaced everything that I had last year.

This is same forum that debates the next $500 video card purchase every 6 months. Better STFU about apple value. Just look stupid as shit otherwise.

but that video card can also mine bitcoins, heat the house and provide white noise while you sleep. and it will make you feel warm and fuzzy about "being ready" for when games finally come out that will use the power

I blindly hated Apple until just over 1 year ago and never owned any of their products. I just hated how it was different from Windows/Linux and just didn't get why they had to be different.

Anyway, I got an iPad 1 for Christmas and to my surprise really liked it and found it useful. Got myself an iPhone 4S and then 17" late 2011 MBP. I had to take the time learn the OS and spent days reading and learning the ins outs of the OS.

I had a Power Mac 8500, 8600, then a Blue & White G3 in college. All were discards or u-fix-it finds that I got pretty cheap or traded for. I still have the G3 (which has a G4 400MHz upgrade). During all that time, I was still primarily a PC user.

In 2005 when I got my first real job, I got a 12" PowerBook G4. Upgraded to a first-gen MacBook in 2006. Still have the MacBook. I upgraded to a 2011 MBP last year.

Got my then gf, now wife to buy a MacBook in 2008. Still her only computer (although we still have the Gateway she used to use before that).

I got a first-gen iPod nano in 2006 or so. And a 3rd-gen nano in 2009. (The 3rd gen is lost, probably somewhere still technically in my possession but I haven't been able to find it for a couple of years; but I still use the 1st gen.) My wife has a 2nd-gen nano, and lost a shuffle.

I bought a used first-gen Mac Pro in 2008, I believe. Still own it, upgraded the CPU's to 2.66GHz over the 2.0GHz that came in it.

My sister got an iPhone back in the 3GS days. She moved up through the 4, now the 4S. My wife and I both have 3GSes, my dad has a 4, my wife's husband has a 4.

My mom and dad both own iPad 2's with 3G. They use them all the time and I thank God that they never touch a PC any more, so I never have to hear about it. They just use their iPads for everything, and not a day too soon.
