Delta 50X CD-ROM, after MIR $20. I cannot find it on their web page, so I got it from our local store.
Staples has some software titles free after rebate also. So if you buy this CD-ROM ($40) and buy at least one software, and if your B&M accept coupon, you can get this CD-ROM free, or even get paid.
Here's some details about the CD-ROM. Since I never heard this Delta brand before, I read all labels carefully. It's a Taiwan company, and the driver was made in China. (My Memorex CD-ROM was made in China too.) The tray and tray-cover sound and look like very cheap plastic. However, it is very quiet to operate. But it seems slower than my 40X Memorex. Maybe sb. can banchmark and confirm that. I have a CD-R disk (same brand as the 99c package in BestBuy online last week), which Memorex had problems to read some files. Delta reads it with no problem. And my Memorex reads it fine now, so I don't know.
