The OWC 50GB drive (same sandforce controller) had a huge 4k random write dropoff versus the 100GB drive. I wonder if this vertex has the same problem.

Oh how I would love to see a sale or rebate on these drives.

Being an LE I could only guess and I'd say it's the SF 1500, but don't quote me on that. I'd like to see Anand dissect it and find out.

I also wonder if it gives the same performance of the 100GB version. It's common for these smaller drives to have lower performance than their big brothers.

Also, does anyone know if TRIM finally works in conjunction with RAID 0 on these drives? If so, two of these in RAID 0 would knock the socks off the 100GB version for the same amount of money.

From what I understand, TRIM doesn't work on any RAID array, no matter what drive it is. But these do have garbage collection which will work independently from TRIM being sent from the OS. So while you loose the TRIM function, you still maintain garbage collection in a RAID array. Please educate me if I am wrong.
