the clickthroughs on gasprices.com are mostly pointless. Why would you ever click on one of those links?
I don't doubt the domain gets hits but the clickthroughs are where they would make their money.

looks like they're trying to bid on their own auction to drive up prices. either that or shane has a iq of around 3 or 4.

Consider this:

If he could make $5k per month doing absolutly nothing with the site, why would you sell it for $50,000?

Why would you sell it for even $150,000?

shane516 was hunting for thecollins2's high bid. Proxy bidding.

I might beleive that they aren't bidding up their own auction if someone with at least 50 feedbacks bids on it.

Guess it could be but I don't think we have enough info to try to make that statement. thecollins2 put in a bid first. shane516 just keeps getting an immediate "you've been outbid" notice as soon as he did. Now the only "funny" part is shane516 stopped bidding even though anouther $100 would put him over thecollins2 - we now know how much thecollins2 max bid was as the current bid is that same as shane516's last bid. Otherwise, it would have gone to 50,100. Though it doesn't matter much anyway as the reserve has not been met. Driving up the bid at this point is meaningless.

Why would driving up the bid be meaningless? The seller knows what the reserve is. If he/she can get it just below the reserve the next bid will be the sucker/winner.

More bids seem to make an auction look more enticing.

Shens!!!

You can do the math, 3000 visitors/day with 5k income means you get $0.055 per visitor, that's not possible.
