500 watt PS recommendations

Running a 1 year old Dell 530 Windows XP SP2 system. System video card is ATI 2400 HD Pro and PS is 350 W. Looking to upgrade video card to a Galaxy GeForce 9500 GT. Would like some recommendations on a 500W PS that balances performance and value.

I'm not into gaming. I do a lot of graphics in Photoshop and a fair amount of video editing using Pinnacle Studio Plus 11. This software is not very happy with the 2400 HD so time to upgrade.

One PS I've seen looked at and like is the SeaSonic SS-500ET 500W, available now on NewEgg for about $70. Any other recommendations in this price range with comparable specs and reliability?

TIA for any replies.

Good point. It appears that the 350 watt PS will work OK with this card or my other choice, a radeon hd 4670 ddr3. Just thought a bit more wattage and a single 12v rail (the Corsair) might be an advantage if I upgrade the video card again. The 530 I have does not support PCI Express 2.0 so I don't know if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the reply. It's hard for a non-techie to figure out the proper upgrades!😕 I'll use the money saved to upgrade my old Samsung 710v 17" monitor to a 19" with DVI input!

I'd get the Antec over the corsair 450, since you really dont need the extra wattage, and $15 more + rebate hassle. If you prefer the Corsair name though theres a Corsair 400w thats usually within a couple $ of the antec

I'll probably go with the Corsair 400 as it has 6 sata connections. The Antec 380 only has 2 sata connections and I need a minimum of 3 - 1 sata DVD and 2 sata HDD.

Thanks again for the information.

I 2nd the vote for the Corsair 400cx PSU over the Antec 380w PSU. I have the Antec 380w PSU right now in my son's rig and it works just fine. The Corsair 400cx is going for $50 - $10 MIR = $40 over at Buy.com right now. That is a bit hard to beat and should do you well. As stated earlier you really don't need to upgrade the PSU for a 9500gt. I'd probably get the 4670 GPU, but that is just me.
