500 gig WD HD not reconizing

I just bought a 500 gig WD SATA HD for my MSI 7032 motherboard. I already have 2x120 IDE HD's in there and it will not reconize the 500 giger. I see nothing in BIOS that lets me enable or disable the SATA ports, even when tryin to install the software that came with the HD it will not reconize it in anyway. I called both the WD and MSI and spent hours on the phone with both of the companies, neither of which helped me at all. Anyone have any ideas? Is there something I don't know? Or did I just waste 100$?
 
Power supply maybe? try externally connecting it to a computer with an os and run the diagnostic on it if it still doesnt show up then its DOA
