Hi,

I am looking to buy a large 500 GB drive and was woundering who's HD's I should get
Western Digital ,Seagate or Maxtor.

There are 4 500 GB drive's to chose from. Would like a SATA 3.0Gb/s dirve.

Any Input as far as speed of drive or if there are any differances in drives let me know.

IE -noise,heat, speed number of platters in drive or MTBF(mean time before falure)

other then Warranty:

Seagate Warranty: 5 Years

Maxtor Warranty: 3 Years

Western Digital Warranty: 3 Years

Will most likely go with Seagate because of 5 Year Warranty and price so so(not the lowest) but is drive good quality/Speed ?

Thanks,

Darin

the seagate was rated faster in a comparison here on AT. You can find a review of the 160GB seagate that shows it compared to a 500GB and you can see some benchmarks of that drive there.

well, seagate and maxtor are together now but...

only seagate because of the warranty and probably western digital because ive used so many of their drives without one of them failing. and same goes for the seagate.
