Each winner will receive a VIZIO 55" LCD HD TV. Each prize has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $1999.99. Five hundred (500) prizes are available.

One entry. Feb 1- Aug 14. 17 tvs awarded each week for 27 weeks then 24 the final weekend. First drawing Feb 23.

Entered. FYI- you do not need to submit a story, it's a random drawing. Also, if you opt out of their email communications, you need to check the site weekly for the winners. If you're a winner, they will NOT contact you if you opt out. If you don't contact them within a set timeframe, you forfeit your prize.

I'm not sure about that. The rules say that they will contact you by snail mail or email as well as putting the names on the site and you have 15 days after the names go up or they attempt to contact you to respond. Not that the chances favor my having to do any responding at all. 🙁
 
The specific language they use is
Winners will be posted on www.vizio.com and notified by U.S. postal mail or email at Sponsor's discretion on or before the Friday immediately after each drawing, you are encouraged to visit www.vizio.com on a weekly basis to keep up with the latest developments. Prospective winners who do not respond within fifteen days after the initial post on www.vizio.com, or attempt at contact are declared ineligible will forfeit their prizes and alternate winners will be selected at random.

So, it's their choice if they use postal mail or email, but in either case if you don't respond within 15 days you forfeit.

The opt out clause in their email says
Yes, please send me emails about VIZIO 55" Winners as well as news, products and special offers.

I took that, along with their contest rules, to mean that the only way to be guaranteed of an email notification of the winners was to opt in to their email list. I may be interpreting it wrong, but in any event, I want fellow AT'ers to know the particulars of this contest and to help them keep an eye open.
