Okay so some of you probably heard about this new book and moving making the rounds lately. For those not familiar with the whole "50 shades of grey" deal, here are the cliff notes.

------------------------------------- 50 Shades of Grey Cliff Notes by Hugo Drax -----------------------------------------------------------------

Some mousy underpaid, over educated liberal arts millenial chick is sent to interview some super rich dude who has a helicopter and a collection of expensive cars and lives in a fancy penthouse.

Rich dude has mental scars of being abused by his mom ala Norman bates so he hates women that reminds him of his abusive mother.

Dude gets an interview by this chick and she reminds him of his mother, so he decides she will be his new plaything to get his inner fustrations out, ie pimp slap her, tie her up, humiliate her the whole shebang.

She finds this super rich powerful handsome guy exciting and sexy, the ultimate alpha male.

Dude pays attention to her and stalks her, her panties get wet with all this attention, although she is a little creeped out, but fuck it he has a helicopter and he gives her a car.

He pimp slaps her and kicks her around like a cat playing with a freshly caught mouse. She deals with it, secretly hoping she can fix him and that no pain no gain. Take the beatings and maybe she can change him.

time goes on and the beatings begin to subside as her powerful submissive feminine charm slowly suffocates away the hate/rage, like a python smothering its prey. The transformation begins.

Eventually he becomes pussywhipped and declawed, she pops out some kids and now he is the perfect knight in shining armor and they become a happily married couple.

So this objectification type behavior from men towards women is okay again?

That's way too long.

The short of it: if you are good looking and are a billionaire, you can get away with a lot of violent behavior against women that the regular joe can't.

Or, <for women>: if you are with a billionaire, you have to put up with a lot of scary stuff for the sake of future payout. Differently said: if you put up with all his violence and hang around enough, he will change and love you.

Afterward when he leaves, she says this: "But now I feel like a receptacle - an empty vessel to be filled at his whim. [...] I have an overwhelming urge to cry, a sad and lonely melancholy grips and tightens round my heart. Dashing back to my bedroom, I close the door and lean against it trying to rationalize my feelings. I can't. Sliding to the floor, I put my head in my hands as my tears begin to flow."
I call that #winning

You've never had a woman that wanted to get treated rough in the bedroom?

It's basically a primal urge to dominate or be dominated in sex. We get that from our animal ancestors.

Replace him with a 50yo bald guy who makes $30k a year, and he'd have a restraining order on him so fast it wouldn't even be funny.

Women only eat this shit up because he's rich and attractive. They are just as shallow as men, except the surroundings are different.

Thanks. Now I neither have to read the book NOR see the movie. Not that I was going to anyway.

Go to the movie wearing a trench coat. Talk to women you don't know and say "my favorite scene was the one where he rapes her"

Bonus points if you wear a fedora:

The system admin is probably wondering why my search history includes the words "fat neckbeard" and "fedora rapist"

'Attractive' gets old fast at $30k a year. It's the 'Billionaire' that makes anybody attractive. Of course, I'm talking real life. Fiction can be made to declare anything.

I'm sure that's the rationalization that's fueling the sales of the book/movie. And I'm sure it applies to a sub-section of the population.

Myself - no, I have not encountered such personalities. But I'm sure I'd have veered away from them, as must they have from me. I like women who think they are my equal, act that way.

I was wondering what all the fuss was about. I heard about the book and the movie, but I didn't want to go watch it because it would be too boring. Now that I have the short version I am satisfied. Thank you.

From high school forward, I never dated a women who didn't have a rape fantasy. Even in casual relationships (coworkers, friends), the women who've expressed strong desires to be overpowered, controlled, and "used" are countless. It's fun watching them talk about it... their eyes gloss over, they bite their lip, and you can surely guess what else.

It's simple biology.
