50 pack 52x CD-R $4.50 at Fry's

This is my first post so go easy with the flames.

Just picked up a 50 pack of 52x CD-R's at Fry's for 4.50. was $4.87 after tax. They have unadvertised specials every Friday and I think this is one of them. They were on the bottom shelf (furthest from eye level) The tag on the spindle said 12.00 but the tag on the shelf read 4.50. They guy said it was today only. Was limit 1 per customer. The brand is GQ (Great Quality?) but I have a friend who bought these previously and said he hasn't had 1 coaster.

I read today's AD GQ 52x 50spindle CDR for $5. Limit 1

This is in Houston. Does not say Today only. So may be good until Tuesday.

Bay Area Fry's it's 4.50 per spindle. It's good for 5 days, until the 17th. They have been running this same special for about 3 weeks, starting Friday and running until Tuesday. SKU# 3586794

Another good deal was last week when Fry's had these same 52X GQ's in packs of 10 with slim cases for $1.50 per 10-pack. Limit was 5-10 packs which would be $7.50. Subtracting out the price of the CD's as 4.50 (like this special), you were getting a 50 pack of slim cases for 3.00. Just keep an eye out, because that special comes around a little less frequently than the CD/spindle deal.

i was just about to post this.. this deal is on again.. or still?? whichever.. but i went by today, and saw the $12 cdr's.. i wasn't going to get any until my cousin's rang up at $4.50, so i figured, at that price, it's a steal... i've used these before, and they're great.. never a bad burn

Nice, have to get some, these are usually $12-14, sometimes you can get 100 for that though.

Edit: Got 2 packs, came to just under $10 with tax. You can get two by paying for one with a card and another in cash.

They've been running this price for GQ CDs for on/off for over a month here in DFW. I have been buying GQ discs for over two years. Wouldn't pay more for CDs and they work great!

My Nutech DDW-082 doesnt like the GQ discs at all, which sucks cause I used to get them all the time because they are cheap. The fastest write speed I could get was 16x. In my 2500A then burn at the max write speed, so hitting the advertised 52x/48x depends on how your burner likes these dics. I've never had any read problems with them, so they can be the best deal around if you don't mind how fast you burn CDs.

but i thought that GQ cd doesn't really last long, i mean for quick usage but not for storage i suppose. Either way it's not a bad deal. Without rebate i found on amazon that 50 back of memorex is 9.99
