According to the poll, 14 percent of Republicans said that from what they knew of Obama, they thought such allegations were "definitely true"; 38 percent thought the allegations were "probably true." Meanwhile, 33 percent of Republicans thought they were "probably not true" and 7 percent thought they were "definitely not true." Asked whether Obama favors the interests of Muslim Americans over other groups of Americans, 59 percent Republicans said yes, whereas 34 percent said he has "generally been evenhanded."

The good news is that around 4 in 10 are still with us...at least partially. I honestly don't understand how people can be this ignorant.

We don't need wrong and fancy phrases like 'alternate reality' instead of 'irrational' and 'ignorant'. It makes cute what should be seen for the ugliness it has.

Part of the problem with our politics today is treating 'both sides' as if they're some founding fathers idea of 'rational citizens', when many are more a cult.

We should recognize that we have a significant portion of the population who are terribly incompetent as citizens, holding wrong, harmful, irrational emotional views.

This forum proves every day that you can put a hundred solid facts in front of people and get out nothing but crazy responses - not the democratic theory.

It's what happens with massive funding for propaganda.

And as in many societies where it's happened, the people in the society have a hard time recognizing it's occuring.

We can all look at the deficit and other problems and say 'gee, that's bad', but try to do anything about the war by the rich behind it - forget it.

The only thing in our favor is that the cult members are only a 'large minority' rather than a 'majority', but that won't stop them from winning some elections.

Like I've always maintained, Republicans/Tea Baggers are largely a party of bigoted White trash. It's run by blood suckers that feed on that bigotry as much as they can. The vast majority of them also happen to be Christians. These "people" would have made the perfect candidates for Hitler's sheeple back in the 30s.

Why are you generalizing about white trash? You should take each of them separately. You shouldn't generalize about any group of people / mosque logic/

Let's follow Craig's logic from multiple posts:

(1) The deficit is a huge problem
(2) The problems with the deficit is a war by the rich
(3) According to Craig, the Tea Party is just a plot funded by the rich to benefit the rich
(4) The main thrust of the Tea Party is to reduce spending

So...

The huge deficit is a plot to benefit the rich, and the reduction of the deficit is also a plot to benefit the rich?



All you ever provide for evidence is more lame statements blindly declaring all Republicans as evil. Come on, at least try. And you can't point to Chavez as your hero.

Here is the actual wording of the question:

"Some people have alleged that Barack Obama sympathizes with the goals of Islamic fundamentalists who want to impose Islamic law around the world."

It's amazing how you guys around this forum seem to always fail at reading comprehension.

Considering 17% of Democrats responded likewise, probably tells you that more than likely, by the 24th question of a phone survey, most people don't give a fuck anymore of providing accurate responses.

Seriously, how did they get 332 cell phone surveys? I though cell phones were off limits from phone lists. And who takes that much time out of their day to respond to these? If any of you received a call on your cell phone asking you to take a 24 question survey, I'm betting you'd all hang up immediately. I'm looking at that survey and guessing it's minimum half hour to complete. Yea, I'm saying the longer in to a survey the greater the survey diverges from the truth.

You keep playing up this pseudo paraellism in every thread, ignoring when the analogy doesn't work. Comparing a situation where a tiny group of Muslims destroys the WTC buildings and saying we shouldn't generalize to all Muslims is not comparable to a situation where a poll says that HALF of all republicans believe some nutty thing. While Joker in particular was over-generalizing, this situation is not really comparable to your example.

As long as his words, deeds and actions show he wants to promote islam over American Greatness then this number will only get bigger. It's not an alternate reality, it's a very possible. Just have to pay attention to him.

Why do you think his highest ratings are among muslims? Because his words, deeds and actions shows he is sympathetic to their cause.

Cubby, most polls these days include cell phones to get an accurate base of people. Most polls I've participated in are less than 10 minutes and damn straight I'm answering it.

He has the highest ratings among muslims because muslims mostly experience bigotry from shithead conservatives like yourself. Somehow i doubt they would want Obama's altnernative. See sig.
