First car I owned was a 1996 Vauxhall Astra that took a ridiculous 15seconds to go from 0-60mph and handled like a boat with marshmallow brake pads!

The S2000 feels a lot faster 😀. 0-60mph in 6.2seconds and it the handling is sweet. I'm no car pro but it feels tight and hugs the ground when turning.

Lack of torque? It's relative and the last car was an A-B car with no performance short of being able to move. Any car would feel torquey compared to it, and to me this one does. I've driven my friends S3 to 150mph in Germany and that feels torquey through the autobahns. Instant power in any gear. The S2000 you just drop it down a gear and make sure your in the correct rev range to make the use out of the engine. No biggie imo.

The brakes feel solid. Enough power for me.

The roof is pretty cool and the weather was gorgeous yesterday and I had it down for a few hrs. Very nice feeling, like my head got a massage after 30mins on the motorway!

The boot will be enough for me and when I want to shift some bigger stuff I can borrow someone else's car.

The back end is very happy to slip out if you thrash it out about in 2nd gear and are turning. It surprised me off a slip road yesterday. I wasn't meaning to get the back end out but it went out a bit but I controlled it  From that moment on I am giving the car that much more respect.

The rear tyres need replacing, so any good S2000 forums you'd recommend whilst I do some researching on my own? It'll be interesting to see how back happy the car is with near tyres.

Congrats! That's a beautiful color combination and looks very clean. S2000 is very fun car and perfectly suited for those small twisty roads in the UK.

That's the forum I used to read when I had my S2000. I still need to sell the wheels and couple of accessories like different shift knobs for the S2000.

Congrats on the new car, you made an excellent choice.

The earlier S2000's seem to be more prone to snap oversteer, so be careful and get some new rubber ASAP.

I personally really like the S2000 interior - pure function and, in typical Honda fashion, it's of high quality and laid out in a sensible way. It's no BMW but that is a good thing in some respects (and I am a BMW owner!).

Great car, Koing! Definitely treat it with respect - those things can be quite a handful for a car with "only" 240 bhp.

The no torx issue is really blown out of proportion... Unless you're coming from a dump truck, it's not really an issue.

Congrats and enjoy the beautiful car the S2000 is.

My friend has the same color combo, I love it!

Cheers lads.

I'm just happy to drive a car with a radio and that doesn't handle like a boat!

I am definately giving the car a lot of respect as the back end is happy to break out if I gun it and coupled with the fact that the rears need replacing.

The colour combo is nice but black would have been better but I was struggling to find one with less then 40k miles and for my price range. If I had an extra 4-5k it would have been easier to find a black with red leather combo but alas I do not have that dough.

The interior is clean and tidy and it works well 🙂

I figure I'm not going to lose too much in 2-3yrs and I've been pretty good with my £££ post Uni so I wanted to treat myself for once 😛

Premium petrol (99octane) is about £1.28 per litre so that is quite a sick $2.50 per litre equivalent! But our driving distances are less and I won't be commuting it to work. Thats taken care with the bike, train and subway journey.

Sweet car.

IIRC, the UK versions of the S2000 kept that tail-happy rear suspension setup until the last year or so. They didn't get the "sanitized" version until several years after the US did (2004?).

I'm Christople on there, I'm usually on Car talk

Coolios 🙂

I'm looking to track the car a few times a year but I'll definately play it safer.

Yes the bank end is definately tail happy with the AP1 but the AP2 is suppose be less tail happy due to the wider tyres. The new S2000's have TCS.

I really like how I can turn sharp and it hugs the road really well. It feels good in corners when I am not accelerating through them.

You should be able to accelerate through corners a bit, you just have to modulate the throttle more. It's not on-off 😉

Great car and congrats on getting there. I like that you have gone for the red leather, I think that combo is great and suits a sports car.

The back end is snappy on those, but it is pretty controllable unless you really provoke it. Have fun and see you on the M25

It's digital baby! 😛

Yes I should be modulating the beast some more 😛

We should run sometime. My mate was beasting his S3 that is pushing 310Bhp. Fast off the mark and fast to 150mph solid!
