I live near a rounabout that also has traffic lights, and you need the traffic lights to be able to cross the road. During busy times there is never a break in traffic long enough to cross during. That's not safer IMO.

-50000 person down started replacing lights with roundabouts 7 years ago. 3 lights left to be removed.
-road deaths used to average 1 every 3 yearsbut there haven't been any the last 7 years.
