Hey guys, I just posted a new article on my site and wanted to see if I could get any feedback. Also, if you could digg the article I would really, really appreciate it!

"If you're wanting a new lens or two but aren't sure where to even begin looking, you're in luck! From the author of "10 Reasons to Buy a DSLR," (that's me) comes "5 Things You Need to Know About SLR Lenses." Get your read on."

I don't know from "Diggs" - I refuse to join anything on line - it always results in more spam.

Anyway - a pretty good summary. You cite these "things:"

1. Type of lens mount
2. Crop factor (or 35mm equivalency) (That is more of a camera body function than the lens, but they relate.)
3. Subject or useage. What are you shooting?
4. Zoom or prime
5. Fixed or variable aperture - relates to lens "speed." Variables are generally cheaper.

I would add one more factor - it relates to subject/usage and focal length - Image Stabilization or no IS.

I have had 3 Canon digital SLRs - D60, 20D, and now 5D. And a pretty wide assortment of Canon lenses. My current favorite two lenses are, the Canon EOS 24-105mm f/2.8, IS, L and the relatively new EOS 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6, IS, DO (diffractive optics.)
