for anyone who feels like the rippling effect that the 600m's among other inspirons, is notorious for is just an "artifact" of design, I'm afraid that this wasn't the case with me. I first found out that I shouldn't accept this flaw when I saw a fellow student's model not showing that same effect. So I sent it in and 2.5 weeks later, voila, my lcd doesn't have that problem anymore. I'm just posting this just to spread the word that although a rippling effect may exist in all laptop lcds out there, the 5 second lasting rippling effect can be fixed.
Just to elaborate on what the 5 second ripple is, whenever I moved the monitor or subjected the laptop to some vibration, the top right hand corner would give off this ripple effect that may look cool to some but annoyed the hell out of me since it would last for five seconds. But I guess I'm just excited about the fact that it was fixed since I've heard accounts of the lcd being "replaced" but exhibiting the same effects. Okay, that's it. ciao
