5 raccoons under my deck!

a while ago we heard something is chewing on our deck from underneath. we heard sounds of wood ripping. figured it was a raccoon. called around and found out we could rent a trap and have the county vector control come and retrieve it afterwards. never got around to it and haven't really heard the raccoon again so i never did anything.

fast forward to last night. i was doing the dishes and saw a fat raccoon sitting on the lawn, next to the edge of the deck, staring at me...just sitting there looking at me while i was looking at her...after a while two smaller ones stuck out their heads as well. i thought oh fvck, 3 raccoons...then they started to wander further out into the lawn, jumping on each other and grooming each other...i looked away and when i looked back, there were two more! 5 fvcking raccoons having a jolly good time on my lawn...its a family of mommy and 4 juvi's...

i don't think i can trap them all...i'm thinking of blocking off the gap to the underside of the deck with concrete blocks once they're all leave at night and hope they go make a home elsewhere...

is there any other good ideas on how to get rid of the fvckers?

will the hot sauce just piss them off? i want them to leave and vacate the premises...some more permanent.

i read before that they hate ammonia and bought a bottle from ace, still haven't opened it yet

Don't forget to mix it in a enclosed space with bleach first.

Just block up the entrance under the deck when they are out and bring in any bird feeders at night or such and with no food around they will be moving on shortly.

this seems like my best bet, i went and bought cinder blocks from home depot today for that purpose...hope mommy is not strong enough to move the blocks, she was pretty fat and mean looking

Sounds to me as though you have 5 potential Dan'l Boone coonskin caps on your hands there! Time to break out the 22, dang it!!

Shoot them with a paintball gun, and they won't come back.

i only have a pump handle bb rifle...with 2 bb's left over from way back! shot mommy twice...hit her both times...she twitched both times and continued to stare at me...she was maybe 20' away from where i was...

Corner them and try to catch them with your bare hands! Racoons are very docile creatures and will let you pick them up and reason with them.

J/K...don't try this. 😛

Excellent advice. Few people know racoons make great pets 😀

They do, in fact!
IF you get them very young.
My daughter brought one home after it's Momma was hit by a car.
We kept her for around 3 years, sweetest, most lovable little critter I have ever seen.

Once she matured though, the call of nature made her mean.
She left one day & never came back.

So she is bullet proof... you are so screwed as you angered her now. 😛
