5 hour layover in Paris... is that enough time to see some sights?

This seems like a repost. It may have been London though. But I guess 5 hours would be cutting things close.

DeGaulle is like 20 miles outside of the center of Paris where most of the stuff if. You'd probably have enough time to zip in and see the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, maybe grab a croissant and get insulted by a waiter. Pretty big risk though, without having a good grasp of traffic in the area you have no way to be sure you can make it back to the airport in half an hour or whether it might take two hours if the highways are backed up.

Yeah a good waiter drama thing might be in order 🙂

5 hours and moving out of the airport too far would be pretty adventurous.

I'd say no... traffic around there can be a problem, but your bigger issue may be finding a cab or ride back to CDG. Cabbies in Paris aren't going to want to take you back to the airport. When we left Paris I had to book a ride specifically to CDG and finding one if you don't have it preplanned will be challenging.

Airport is CDG

If it's possible, which sights do I have time for? I'm trying to plan it out

A five-hour layover would be tough to see much. Depending on how long it takes to go through immigration, customs, etc, you might have time to catch the train at the airport and spend an hour or two downtown, but you'd feel rushed.
