5 hard drives in winxp

I recently installed 2 more hdds in my computer to make a total of 5. When i formatted them i only had my c drive and the 2 new ones hooked up. I formatted them, partioned, and copied files from the old drive to the new drives. I then hooked up the rest of my drives and winxp wouldn't recognize all the drives, mainly, the 2 new hdds. If i only have one of the new ones hooked up, it recognizes it fine with all the data - same thing if the other new hdd is plugged in.

And for some reason, when both new hdds are plugged in with the other drives unplugged, besides the c drive, only one of them will be recognized.

I've tried swapping cables and unplugging other things to see if it might be a power issue and haven't came up with anything. The only thing i haven't tried is checking the jumpers, which i doubt they changed, but who knows.

Anyone have any thoughts to this problem? I can't imagine winxp having a max limit on the number of physical drives. All the drives show up at the post and on my ide/raid controller.
 
PATA. And RAID isn't disabled in the mobo's bios or on the card's bios (which 4 of the drives are plugged into). They are all independent drives with their own single logical partitions, except the c drive which has 2 partitions. I ran 4 hdds before with the same settings with no problems for the last ... 2 years almost. 4hdds to the controller card and 1 to the mobo.
