Yes, you do have to dial 10-10-811 first, but I have used this service from Nebraska and North Carolina and have had excellent reception and service from both locations.

No monthly fee

.05 cents a minute, 10 min minimum (.50 cents)
(I figure if you pick up the phone to call LD you will talk for at least 10 min.)

Separate Billing, nothing to change at the local exchange since you keep your existing LD carrier.

The 10 min minimum throws off everything. You can't call that 5cpm, you really should change your subject.

What happens when you get an answering machine? That call just cost you 50cpm.

It's probably closer to 7 or 8cpm in reality.

There are better deals to be had for sure. This might work if you only use it on the calls when you KNOW you'll be on the phone 10 or more minutes.

Good point, changed the subject line. I have had good luck with this company, try it once and find out if it is right for you. If you don't like it you will only receive one bill for the call you made.

You aren't switching anything. They don't call and whine "Come Back" at 09:00 am either. Try it once and compare it to your existing LD provider.
